Production Operative


The candidate will be friendly, reliable, trustworthy and hard working with a positive ‘Can Do’ attitude. The Successful candidate will be working on a number of different production lines within a busy composite manufacturing facility. You will be moved around these areas working on varied products. Due to the nature of these products you will need to show an eye for detail and a high level of dexterity is required. Key responsibilities: To carry out, after suitable training and instruction, various machining, forming and joining of assemblies and components. To carry out various computer-based and manual processes related to quality control, production monitoring and operational records. Full English speaking, listening, reading and writing required. Communicating with colleagues or supervisors for information if needed. To operate in a safe and responsible manner with regard to other employees and ensure appropriate PPE is utilized at all times. To be able to clearly understand verbal and written instructions, asking for clarification if necessary. To ensure the quality of products or components meets both specification and the expectations of the subsequent operation, ensuring completed work is clearly identified and quantified. To ensure the performance level of each task, defined in agreement with the Supervisor, is achieved consistently and to respond positively to reasonable requests for performance improvement if standards are not achieved. To ensure all supervision is made aware of any concerns with components, products, equipment or facilities, and to always ask for assistance if necessary. To report any misuse of equipment, processes or materials. To report when work is complete and/or no other task is immediately available. You will be expected to carry out physical duties safely whilst carrying out your activities with some heavy lifting. The working week is Mon-Fri over 37 hours with O/T when required & up to 33* days holiday per year working in excellent conditions with uniforms provided. You must be able to provide a complete work history for the last 12 months with references for that period.
Numerical skills would be advantageous to any successful applicant but not essential. Inductions and training will be given.
Other skills, areas of interest but not essential; restoration, woodworking (joinery/carpentry), engineering, shop fitting, displays and signage, sculpting, paint spraying, design, art.
