The Successful candidate will be working on a number of different production lines within a busy composite manufacturing facility. You will be moved around these areas working on varied products. Due to the nature of these products you will need to show an eye for detail and a high level of dexterity is required. Key responsibilities: To carry out, after suitable training and instruction, various machining, forming and joining of assemblies and components. To carry out various computer-based and manual processes related to quality control, production monitoring and operational records. Full English speaking, listening, reading and writing required. Communicating with colleagues or supervisors for information if needed. To operate in a safe and responsible manner with regard to other employees and ensure appropriate PPE is utilized at all times. To be able to clearly understand verbal and written instructions, asking for clarification if necessary. To ensure the quality of products or components meets both specification and the expectations of the subsequent operation, ensuring completed work is clearly identified and quantified. To ensure the performance level of each task, defined in agreement with the Supervisor, is achieved consistently and to respond positively to reasonable requests for performance improvement if standards are not achieved. To ensure all supervision is made aware of any concerns with components, products, equipment or facilities, and to always ask for assistance if necessary. To report any misuse of equipment, processes or materials. To report when work is complete and/or no other task is immediately available. You will be expected to carry out physical duties safely whilst carrying out your activities with some heavy lifting. The working week is Mon-Fri over 37 hours with O/T when required & up to 33* days holiday per year working in excellent conditions with uniforms provided. You must be able to provide a complete work history for the last 12 months with references for that period.
Numerical skills would be advantageous to any successful applicant but not essential. Inductions and training will be given.

Apprentice/Trainee GRP Laminator/composite moulder

Part of your duties will see you work in all departments involved in the manufacture of GRP (glass reinforced plastic) and composite mouldings shadowing our experienced staff. This is a trainee role and experience is not required as full training will be given. Please note this is a manual position within a manufacturing and engineering composite mouldings company servicing a wide range of industries. You will be able to operate in a clean, safe and responsible manner with regard to other employees and ensure appropriate PPE is utilized at all times. You will be expected to carry out physical duties safely whilst carrying out your activities with some lifting involved.

Experienced GRP Wet-Lay Laminator
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our excellent team working on varied products. We require an experienced hand wet-lay GRP laminator to work on complex and varied production moulds and mouldings. Full English speaking, listening, reading and writing is essential. The candidate will be friendly, reliable and trustworthy with a positive ‘Can Do’ attitude. You will join a team of laminators but must have the ability to work on your own under tight production schedules and the flexibility to meet deadlines. We offer excellent rates of pay, basic 37 hours Monday-Friday with O/T when required & up to 33* days holiday per year working in excellent conditions with uniforms provided.
The ideal candidate will have a varied and extensive GRP background, ideally able to apply multiple split gel coats using fine line tapes and brush gel coat (training will be given where required). You will be able to understand lay-up drawings, use of core materials (balsa, foam etc.) and generic bonding pastes. You will be able to demonstrate excellent hand skills, show attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions. You will be able to operate in a clean, safe and responsible manner with regard to other employees and ensure appropriate PPE is utilized at all times. You will be expected to carry out physical duties safely whilst carrying out your activities with some lifting.
Duties will include; Mould care, preparing moulds for lay-up, application of various release agents, material identification, advanced gel coat application, excellent laminating skills and dexterity in the use of hand tools. You will have experience in the fitting of plants (loose pieces), aligning split moulds, release of parts, use and control of patterns and jigs. You will be capable of using a full range of GRP materials and work unassisted or as part of a team whilst maintaining high standards and turnover of work output. You will be required to identify laminating defects and carry out repairs when required. You will also be required to keep records of productivity & materials for quality assurances.
Other skills of interest but not essential; Vacuum infusion/bagging of composites, laminating with pre-preg carbon fibre / out of autoclave oven curing, use of light RTM equipment (resin transfer moulding), spray painting, welding, woodworking.
